Evaluating the History of Air Conditioners and Studying Multiple Trends - How Many Homeowners Cooled Their Houses

Since the 1880s, many people have utilized numerous products that can cool their houses, reduce the level of humidity and improve the comfort of their homes. Some homeowners purchased electric fans that required direct current, but eventually, multiple inventors created air conditioners that featured innovative compressors, durable condensers and efficient evaporators.

Using Electric Fans

In 1886, a well-known inventor created the first electric fan, and the device featured two blades that contained heavy-duty metal. During the 1890s, several experts invented fans that featured durable motors, which required alternating current. The fans were able to cool sizeable rooms, and according to multiple reports, some houses contained more than five fans that consistently operated during the summer months.

Inventing Air Conditioners

Willis Carrier created the first air conditioner in 1902, and the talented inventor tested many air conditioners that could significantly reduce the level of humidity within a room. During 1915, Willis Carrier established a well-known company that manufactured many types of air conditioners. In the 1930s, the business designed an innovative device that utilized a condenser, mechanical controls, an evaporator and several types of coils.

Increasing the Quality of the Air Conditioners

Since the 1950s, many companies have frequently upgraded the air conditioners, and some businesses have designed cutting-edge units that feature durable compressors, several valves and efficient thermostats. The air conditioners also utilize Freon, which is a trademarked product. Freon can quickly absorb extra heat, and the refrigerant could easily cool the air that is located within the unit.

Reducing Energy Costs

During the last decade, many companies have created innovative air conditioners that can improve energy efficiency, and some devices feature smart thermostats that could automatically regulate the air conditioner, monitor the usage of electricity and modulate the temperature of each room. The customers may also install mobile applications that can control the smart thermostats, evaluate the air conditioner's performance and reduce the consumption of energy.
